70 female artists from 22 countries - the Museum Arnhem, the Saarland Museum and the Belvedere, Vienna are jointly presenting a spectacular exhibition that promises to be a highlight of the 2024/25 art season. Under the title RADIKAL! Women Artists & Modernism 1910-1950, this innovative exhibition explores the complex relationship between gender, art and modernism in the first half of the 20th century. This ambitious exhibition project aims to challenge conventional notions of modern art as a straightforward, mainly male-driven development and to provide a broader, more diverse and representative picture of modernist art. By highlighting the innovative work of women artists and their central role in the modernist movement, the aim is to reshape the way art history is presented.
